The worthy holder of three stars, San Antonio’s Menger Hotel is the oldest continuously operating hotel to the west of the Mississippi and links the border-town history of this Texan city with its vibrant, diverse present. Built in 1879, this centrally located establishment is next to the Alamo, just a block from the shops by the famous River Walk and the Children’s Museum.
There are 316 non-smoking guestrooms on five floors at the Menger Hotel, some with a private balcony overlooking the courtyard, pool, or the Alamo. In-room technology encompasses premium channels on the cable TV, a video-game console, the chance to stay connected with Wi-Fi access, and wake-up calls on the direct-dial telephone. In addition, ceiling fans and air conditioning ensure things remain comfortable, as do the daily housekeeping routine, nightly turndown for bedcovers, plus complimentary toiletries in the en-suite bathroom. Lodgings also include an iron, clock radio, desk, and extra beds or cots for children on request.
Those residing at the Menger Hotel can stroll through the Spanish Garden, relax in a rocking chair on the porch, enjoy the tiered stone fountain, unwind in the sauna, take a dip in the heated outdoor pool under towering palm trees, or simply soak in the hot tub. The fitness center means health nuts can keep up with workout regimes, and the on-site boutique spa offers indulgent massages. With more than 11,600 square feet of versatile meeting space, incorporating the Plaza Ballroom alongside nine event rooms, patrons wishing to hold functions here are well catered for while business services allow work to continue uninterrupted. What's more, the 24-hour reception desk manages a safety deposit box, and the elegant lobby, with a cozy fireplace, is a lovely spot to peruse newspapers or warm up with a hot drink.
For outstanding in-house dining, the stately Colonial Room restaurant, with views over the lush tropical garden, and the Menger bar are two of the original features of the building. Guests can expect delicious food in an atmosphere redolent of a bygone era; Teddy Roosevelt allegedly recruited some of his Rough Riders from the pub-style bar, built in 1887.
The Menger Hotel provides parking with a valet option, as well as airport transportation.

After you have selected your desired room type, you will be taken to a "Complete your booking" form. Then you will need to review the "Details of your stay" and fill in the blanks on the "Guest Details" section. Be sure your name and email address are spelled correctly.
After you fill out all of the needed information, press the "Complete reservation" button. To ensure your security, we use a secure commerce server, which encrypts the credit card number and encodes it into a non-usable form.
